Pet Partners does register some animals with disabilities. If your animal is taking antibiotics, antifungals, or immunosuppressants (including steroid and chemotherapy medications), they will be unable to register and visit until they have finished treatment. Additionally, you may visit clients with compromised immune systems who would be at risk for transmission of zoonotic diseases. Asking animals to make therapy animal visits when they are not healthy increases stress and can lead to a worsened condition. Animals with an IllnessĪnimal welfare and infection control are key principles of the Pet Partners Therapy Animal Program. Take our quiz to find out if you and your pet are ready to form a therapy team. Be comfortable wearing Pet Partners acceptable equipment.Welcome, not merely tolerate, interactions with strangers.Animals walking with a lead should walk on a loose leash, and respond reliably to common commands such as “sit,” “down,” “stay,” “come,” and “leave it.” Demonstrate good basic obedience skills. This includes animals who have been trained to aggressively protect and/or have been encouraged to bite, even if it is a component of dog sport, such as Schutzhund. Have no history of aggression or seriously injuring either people or other animals.Titers are not accepted in lieu of vaccination. Rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and birds are exempt from this requirement. Be currently vaccinated against rabies.Waste collection devices are not permitted, with the exception of flight suits for birds. Have lived in the owner’s home for at least six months, or one year for birds.Have a young animal? See our tips for preparing for future therapy work. Are at least one year old at the time of evaluation, or six months old for rabbits, guinea pigs, and rats.Pet Partners Therapy Animals must meet the following criteria:

Although the majority of our teams are dogs, we also register cats, equines, rabbits, guinea pigs, llamas and alpacas, birds, miniature pigs, and rats. Pet Partners is proud to register nine different species for therapy animal work in the United States and Canada. Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion at Pet Partners. The gender, color personality, etc of the baby is decided by whoever decides to role play it, even if someone posts in the adoption boards. After the owner of the mother has picked a baby, the father may pick one, then the mother, then father, etc. If the owners of the mother and father characters are fighting over who gets to role play a baby (if there is only one baby born or if the mother wants to role play two and only two are born, etc) then the mother gets first pick. If you want more role played but you don't want to do it, post in the adoptions board. You can role play as many of the children as you want. You can say something like "the spiderlings were all fighting to catch the ant first." But if you want to actually role play them, you need to make a profile for them. Not all babies have to be role played. You could have an elephant that gives birth to two or something, but please don't have an elephant with 100 babies. And please keep the number of offspring within reason. Some may be born blind, others may be still borns, etc. But please remember that not all babies will be healthy. You may decide on the number of offspring, any health defects, what they look like, etc.(As long as they love each other, right?) But of course, cannot mate as in have offspring. Animals of different species (say, an elephant an a butterfly) may be mates as in an animal equivalent of marriage.Animals must be in the adult age group before mating. They are NOT the ages the animals must be to be in that group.

That means animals in the newborn group, no matter what their actual age is, would act like a human who has just been born to a one year old baby. For example, the newborn group says 0 days to 3 years. In the following list, the numbers beside the age group specify the equivalent of ages a human would be to be in that age group. If you don't want to, then just put the age group. Animals age at the same rate in Amanija as real animals do, so, if you want to include how many years old they are, please research it on google or elsewhere.

You may also use numbers for more exact ages, but you need to include the age group. On profiles, you should include an age group for your character.
